- D'Arcy McGee January Exams 2010 - Week of January 25 - 28th
- Symmes Junior High School Math Exam Information:
Grade 7 - There will be a grade 7 cumulative exam the week of the 25th of January in class. Students should be preparing memory aids. Also, there will be a situational problem starting February 1st. Grade 8 - There will be a cumulative exam in class between Jan.18th and 26th. Memory aids should be prepared in advance. The situational problem will begin on Feb.1st- Symmes Jr. High 2010-2011 Open House - February 3rd at 7pm in the Auditorium
- D'Arcy McGee High School 2010-2011 Open House - February 10th at 7pm in the Auditorium
- P.P.O. is proud to present a speaker's series entitled "Endless Possibilities" beginning January 2010. The first speaker in the series is Julie Braun on "The Art of Possibility" to be held on January 28th at 7pm in the Auditorium. Everyone is invited to come out for the presentation.
- Notice to parent(s)/guardians of grade 9 girls: HPV vaccinations have been re-scheduled for Tuesday, February 2nd and the third shot is planned for May 4th. The teachers have a list of the girls to be vaccinated and there is also a list posted at the nurse's office.
- ALL NIGHT BALL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT FEBRUARY 19 & 20
All proceeds will go directly to support Ryan’s Well Foundation for the construction of clean drinking water wells in Africa. All D’Arcy McGee & Symmes students, teachers and
parents are welcome to form a team and help support our cause. The cost is $50 per team
with a maximum of 10 players per team. Come and join us! See the following link for more
details. Deadline for submissions is Jan 25.
- SYMMES HOMEWORK AND STUDY CLUB: Beginning on January 12th the school library will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 3:45 to 5:00. Students may use the time for school research, to work on projects, to complete homework or for quiet reading. Students will have access to computers for academic research. A teacher supervisor and peer tutors will be available for limited assistance. Students must arrange their own transportation home. Students will be asked to sign in each afternoon, so that we can keep track of who is attending. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to have a quiet environment to complete work. Only students who wish to use the time productively are welcome to attend. A student may be asked to leave if he/she is not working productively or is distracting other students.
- Attention all grade 5 and 6 hockey players attending South Hull, Lord Aylmer and Eardley Elementary schools:
Symmes and D’Arcy McGee High School will be hosting a 5 day Power Skating and Stick
Handling Hockey Camp during the Western Quebec School Board March Break. Our Power
Skating program focuses on proper body position, leg motion and muscle memory through
repetition. The best players are usually ones who can not only generate speed, but also do it with a
puck on their stick. Our Stick Handling program focuses on proper upper and lower body functions
in coordination with efficient timing. Repetition of these skills is important so that they stay engrained
in the muscle memory and become reactions you don't think about during the game. The cost of the
10 hour program is $75.00. All players will receive a Symmes-D’Arcy Hockey t-shirt and a stick
handling ball. To register please fill out the registration form below and send along with your
payment of $75 (cheque made payable to Symmes-D'Arcy McGee) as soon as possible as
registration will be on a first come first served basis. For more information please contact Rick
